"To me, PRIDE means showing the whole world your true colours, that you are worthy of respect and recognition, that you are skilled, needed and valuable, exactly as you are, while being your own authentic self. And it also means speaking up for people who can’t find their voice or whose voice is shut down, it’s about standing united and lifting each other up.“ - Leading with PRIDE Participant
How can we encourage young people to stand up for who they are, to counter discrimination and to utilize all their interests and talents with self-esteem? How do we inspire them to make their voices heard, increase visibility for their own causes, question processes, develop informed opinions and demand their rights? How do we motivate youngsters to accept who they are, tolerate others and celebrate diversity? „Leading with P.R.I.D.E.“ addresses these questions and enhances leadership skills of LGBTIQ+ youth workers as well as youth workers working with LGBTIQ+ youth. Furthermore, the training gives the youth workers the right skills, tools, insights and expertise to inspire and enhance leadership skills among LGBTIQ+ youth and among allies. Since the power of social media leverages the influence of educating the general public, the aim of achieving stronger leadership skills was joined by a focus on how to engage and educate youth towards social inclusion through social media. 🌈
