Living in the “digital era” everyday life is increasingly taking place online and we are offered a great range of opportunities for youth activism and engagement. But yet, online activism does not always achieve the desired impact and ultimately the change we want to see. And while we are engaging more and more online, this change we want to see is actually meant to happen offline, bringing people closer together, empowering young people to get active and stand up for their thoughts, beliefs and demands in real life. The objectives of On|Offline are to detect which means are most valuable to engage youth in activism, to channel the benefits of online tools for offline impact and further to discover through which means - online, offline or hybrid - youth activism can achieve the best results. 🚀

On|Offline is back. A very big thank you to all our partners in Brazil and North Macedonia and their amazing work during the pandemic. Finally, we can resume all activities for our projects.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all On|Offline project-activities are on hold till further notice. We agreed with the European Commission to postpone the activities. We are dependent on the local health measures to proceed and will resume as soon as it is safe and allowed to do so again. Meanwhile, we stay in close contact with the partner organisations through regular online meetings.

At the Practical Implementation Phase we are further developing the action manual (booklet) and are testing the planned online, offline and hybrid activities in Austria, Brazil and North Macedonia.

At the Workshop in Vienna we developed engaging digital tools towards the gamification of youth work and developed models that youth workers can use to enhance their presence online but also support engagement in the real world. We created an "Innovative Digital Tools for Action Manual" with action-oriented quizzes, experiential games, social experiments etc.

The Youth Exchange in Ohrid was designed as a social experiment to find out 1) Which methods provide the biggest impact on youth and 2) Which tools are proofed to engage more in action. The participants created different project ideas for online, offline and hybrid youth engagement. Also, the participants got trainings on digital competencies, storytelling and youth work.
